Siurana and Montsant Camping and Hostels

The Montsant region, which includes Siurana, Arboli, and Monstant, has several budget accommodation options in the town of Cornudella de Montsant or the canyon of Siurana. Large groups or advanced trip planners can find apartments on Airbnb, but people traveling in pairs can find cheaper options in a guest house or “refugi.” A refugi is like a hostel for hikers or climbers. Not all refugis are created equal: some have stoves, some don’t. Some have free showers, some don’t. Read below to find an place that fits your needs:

Camping Siurana
Camping Siurana, located in the canyon of Siurana, provides a variety of options ranging from camping or dorm beds to a fully equipped bungalow.  Camping Siurana has a bar, restaurant, and basic bakery. An outdoor kitchen for guests has a sink, stove, and area for food storage. Guests in apartments or bungalows have their own kitchen. Camping costs 10€ per person for one night and 7€ after that. Dorm beds cost 12€ per person. A basic double room costs 30€ for one night and 28€ for more nights. Apartments and bungalows cost between 45€ and 70€.  Even if you don’t stay here, you can stop by for laundry (5€), a shower (2€), a drink, or to purchase the Siurana guidebook. Don’t expect cell service or internet – guests can access the internet from a small office room, but the WiFi signal does not reach the restaurant or the sleeping areas. La Vileta Rural Guest House
La Vileta, located near the town square of Cornudella de Montsant, is hybrid between an affordable apartment and an extremely comfortable hostel. Each floor features a fully equipped common kitchen, living room, balcony, and 4-5 private rooms with one double bed or two twin beds. Each private room has a closet and its own toilet and shower. It’s possible to rent the whole floor if you have enough people. For those staying a while, La Vileta costs 18 euros a person. Bring cash, because La Vileta does not take credit card! Laundry and onsite parking are free. La Vileta will respond in English if you communicate via email, but the owner only speaks Spanish in person. Email info@lavileta.net for more information.
 
LoRefugi Montsant Natura
LoRefugi, located on the main street of Cornudella de Montsant, provides dorm beds (15€) and private double rooms (30€). Bring your own stove, cooking equipment, and dishes. The kitchen has a sink and fridge, but nothing else. Lo efugi’s restaurant serves dinner starting at 5PM, and hostel guests receive a 2 course meal plus desert for 8€ a person. Bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, and towel if you want to avoid the one-time fee to rent those items. Park about five minutes away in the town’s public parking area. Showers are free! Refugio Ciriac Bonet
The Refugio Ciriac Bonet doubles as a pizza restaurant and refugi. For 16€ per person, you get a dorm bed with sheets, but bring your own blanket. For about 30-35€, you can get breakfast, dinner, and a dorm bed. Email refugisiurana@hotmail.com for more information.
 
Van Parking
Easy places for van camping include the public parking lot in Cornudella de Montsant, the parking areas in the Siurana canyon, and the large parking area next to the village of Siurana at the top of the canyon. The Siurana village parking lot charges 2€/day to park on the weekends, and public restrooms are located in the village of Siurana. The public parking lot in the town of Cornudella de Montsant is next to the bakery, which has WiFi, restrooms, and guidebooks.

 The bakery on the main street in Cornudella is a popular place for WiFi and coffee, and it has the area guidebooks for you to peruse. The climber bar and restaurant Goma II on the main street of Cornudella also has WiFi. The bakery is open all day, but Goma II does not open until 5:00.
 
Gear Shop
The gear shop Goma II on the main street of Cornudella de Montsant sells guidebooks, beta sticks, and climbing gear. The gear shop takes siesta seriously and is closed Sunday and Monday, so check online for their hours.
